• New Students: River Forest

  If you plan to live on the River Forest campus, you must complete a housing application and pay a $200 housing deposit by July 1, 2026 to secure your on-campus residency.

  Before your housing application and deposit become available in the housing portal, you must first pay your tuition deposit. New students should follow these steps in order:

  1. Pay the tuition deposit.
  2. Complete the housing application.
  3. Pay the $200 housing deposit.

  After you submit your housing application, you can pay your housing deposit by selecting the button below. Note that initial processing takes up to 24 hours. During that time, the option to pay your housing deposit may not appear immediately in the portal.

• Current Students: River Forest

  If you plan to live on the River Forest campus, you must submit a housing application along with a $50 housing deposit to secure your on-campus residency. Returning students are encouraged to complete both their housing application and pay their housing deposit by July 1, 2026 to ensure room assignment for August. 

  Once you’ve submitted your housing application, you can pay your housing deposit by selecting the button below. Note that initial processing of housing applications can take up to 24 hours, so you may need to wait a day after submitting your housing application before you can pay your housing deposit.

• New Students: Chicago

  To be considered for on-campus housing, Chicago Campus students should submit their housing applications by July 1, 2026. New students who choose to live on campus at La Casa Residence Hall will receive their housing assignments by email and post during the second week of July. Move-in will occur Sunday, August 16 between 9:00am – 4:00pm by appointment.

• When is my housing application due?

  The housing applications open at the start of spring semester each year (January/February). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, new students must submit their application and pay their housing deposit by July 1st to secure on campus residency.

• How do I select my roommate as a returning student?

  Log in to the ��֦��Ƶ eRezLife Portal using your university credentials.

  Complete your housing application, fill out the lifestyle questionnaire, and use the portal’s roommate search tool to find and request a compatible match.

  Or create a roommate group using the “Roommate groups” tab on your portal. You’ll become the ‘host’ of the group, then add the ��֦��Ƶ email address (my.dom.edu) of all the students you’re interested in rooming with.

• When will I be notified of my housing assignment?

  Once we receive your signed housing application and housing deposit, we will make your housing assignment.

  Incoming first-year students receive housing assignments by their MyDU email address (my.dom.edu) and post during the last week of July. All other students will be notified of their assignments through their MyDU email address (my.dom.edu) on a rolling basis.

  Incoming students will register for classes during their summer SOAR.

• How will the Office of Residence Life communicate with me?

  The Office of Residence Life sends all communications directly to students' ��֦��Ƶ email addresses (my.dom.edu). Students can expect to receive important details such as room assignments, waitlist status (if applicable), and move-in instructions through their ��֦��Ƶ email accounts.

  In accordance with FERPA laws, we are limited in the information we can provide to parents or guardians. As such, all housing-related communications will be sent directly to students, and students should regularly check their ��֦��Ƶ email for updates.

  All River Forest campus residents should report to the Coughlin Commons to check in. All students will need to have emergency contact information available during the check-in process. Please contact us at  ��dzܲ����Բ�����dz�.���� with any questions or concerns.

• Can I bring a microwave and/or refrigerator? Are they provided?

  We don’t provide microwaves or refrigerators, but you’re welcome to bring either (or both) to your residence hall. Please note that the appliances cannot use more than 120 volts, 60hertz, or 2.5 amps of power. You may also want to speak to your roommate before move-in day to see who should bring what. You may not have enough room for duplicates of everything!

• What should I bring to campus?

   Here are suggested items to bring:

• What size are the mattresses?

  Our mattresses vary in size, depending on the room. The average is 38" by 74". We suggest that you buy twin XL sheets or wait until you see what size your bed is.

• What is the guest policy?

  All residents must check in their guest at the front desk within the Res Halls. All DU and non-DU guests must check in and present a government-issued photo ID (or student ID for commuters) when visiting the residence halls. Hosts must always escort their guests and will assumes full responsibility for the guest compliance with all prescribed university policies and procedures.

  Overnight Guests may stay in the residence halls for a maximum of three nights per month. An overnight guest is one that is staying in the halls during Quiet Hours - 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

• What is the animal policy?

  Fish are the only pets allowed in the residence halls, with all roommates’ permission. Aquariums cannot be larger than 10 gallons and must be removed from the residence halls during all breaks.

  Only approved animals like service animals and authorized emotional support animals (ESAs) are permitted inside university buildings and residence halls, along with certain animals involved in university programs or activities.

  Students requesting an ESA in university housing must complete the university's accommodation process. The university may require any animal to be removed if it possesses a health or safety concern or violates university policy.
