Advance Your Career Today
ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ and College of DuPage (COD) offer a partnership program allowing students to complete a Library Technical Assistant certificate (LTA) or associate's degree at COD, then transfer to ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ to complete a bachelor's degree and Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), all in as little as five years. The program allows students interested in careers in library and information science to become highly qualified regardless of their current education level.
Course of Study
COD students pursuing an LTA certificate can transfer up to 16 semester hours of coursework as elective credit toward a bachelor’s degree in one of the 50 majors offered by ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ's Rosary College of Arts and Sciences. Taking advantage of ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ's accelerated BA/BS-MLIS program, students can take two master’s degree-level classes during the senior year of their bachelor’s degree program and complete the remaining 10 MLIS courses in one year. In addition, LTA holders are eligible to receive a 50% discount on four of the six required core MLIS courses in ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ's School of Information Studies.
Working closely with faculty who bring years of experience in libraries and information centers to their teaching, graduates will be well prepared to join ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ's network of alumni already working in leadership roles in libraries and information centers.
